ACEPS Integrated Interview Invitation Policy Update

ACEPS has set forth a policy that all integrated plastic surgery programs will coordinate when they announce interview dates and distribute interview invitations. The purpose of this is to improve the efficiency of scheduling for applicants and programs. Advanced planning is intended to help applicants’ better plan for travel and to minimize cancellation and rescheduling of interviews.

Please note that the following policies pertain ONLY to the first round of interview invitations. ACEPS does not have a policy in place for the distribution of interview invitations after the first round.

Interview Dates:

A public calendar will be maintained through ACEPS to organize the process of identifying and selecting interview dates. This calendar can be viewed by programs and applicants. Programs are strongly encouraged to enter their interview dates on the site as soon as possible or by the deadline of September 13.
Enter Interview Dates

  1. PROGRAM:
    • Interview invitations must be sent to applicants between the hours of 8:00am and 12:00pm Pacific Time | 9:00 am – 1:00pm Mountain Time | 10:00am – 2:00pm Central Time | 11:00am – 3:00pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, November 12th
    • Programs should not extend more invitations than there are interview slots.
    • Programs that manually schedule interviews should make it clear in the invitation that applicants may respond any time after receiving the invite with a deadline of Wednesday, November 13 at 7AM Pacific Time | 8AM Mountain Time | 9AM Central Time | 10AM Eastern Time
    • Programs should not use first come first serve verbiage
    • Programs that use scheduling software should specify so in their invitation and refrain from sending scheduling links to invited applicants until Wednesday, November 13 at 8AM Pacific Time | 9AM Mountain Time | 10AM Central Time | 11AM Eastern Time
    • Interview scheduling by programs must not start before Wednesday, November 13 at 8AM Pacific Time | 9AM Mountain Time | 10AM Central Time | 11AM Eastern Time for both manual and scheduling software.
    • 2nd round interviews should not be offered until Thursday, November 14 8:00 AM PST (to be in compliance with the NRMP policy)

  2. APPLICANT:
    • Interviewees must submit a response accepting or declining the interview offer by Wednesday, November 13 at 7AM Pacific Time | 8AM Mountain Time | 9AM Central Time | 10AM Eastern Time
    • Invited applicants responding to programs using traditional methods with no scheduling software may respond to those programs anytime between receiving the invite and Wednesday, November 13 at 7AM Pacific Time | 8AM Mountain Time | 9AM Central Time | 10AM Eastern Time
